As humans we have modified our environment like no other species. Our capacity to understand, innovate, create, and modify is incredible. But, what happen when obsolescence kicks in? Where do the things we discard actually end up?
During a week travelling Mallorca’s coastline, I uncovered a huge volume of waste that had been transformed by the sea. The sad irony of this project was that even our trash, when touched by nature, can be transformed into something beautiful.
“Follow me to an island that I will tell you,
an island that is always calm,
where the men are never in a hurry,
where women never get old,
where words aren’t overused,
where the sun shines more than in
any other part, and even the moon
walks slowly full of laziness”
The Island of Calm - Santiago Rusiñol
